Black Forest - Activities & Experiences
The Black Forest holiday region covers a total area of 11,100 square kilometers in southwestern Germany. As the country's largest low mountain range, it offers a diverse range of natural landscapes: from elongated forested mountains in the north, through wide meadow valleys in the central part, to the treeless peaks that rise to 1,493 meters in the southern Black Forest. The region is characterized by its uniqueness, unspoiled nature, and high recreational value.
The natural landscapes are as diverse as the opportunities they offer.
For hiking enthusiasts, the Black Forest is a true paradise: it stretches over 160 kilometers in length and is up to 60 kilometers wide. Forests dominate the north, while in the south you can enjoy panoramic views all the way to the Alps. Whether spring, summer, autumn, or winter – hiking is possible year-round in the Black Forest holiday region.
